At JunkLabz we recognize the value our waste holds and the many creative ways we can extract that value and return it to communities.

Our mission is to both reduce the environmental impact of plastic and electronic waste (printers, TVs, computers, etc.) while also creatively reinventing waste, giving it new purpose and value.

This program has 3 main components:
Printers 4 Kidz: Creating free STEM kits for local schools from sustainable materials.
New Clear Recycling: Recycling and reinventing Charlottesville plastic waste
Junk Labz Design: Creating educational opportunities around sustainable design
If we transform our global economy to one where waste and pollution are eliminated, products and materials are reused and nature is regenerated, we can:
Cut Material Use by 28% and Greenhouse Gas Emissions by 39%
Junk Labz is working to reduce the waste sent to landfills through recycling processes that are transparent to users, enrich the community, and inspire sustainable optimism.
Our project group, Printers 4 Kidz is recycling electronic waste from UVA and the Charlottesville community to create wind turbine STEM kits for local schools. In order to fully process the electronics, we are developing a plastic recycling center in Charlottesville to begin diverting UVA/Charlottesville plastics headed to landfills through the creation of new plastic products.
On top of this we are building sustainable solutions to solve local community problems, pursue creative interests, and provide enrichment. If you are interested in getting involved in any capacity please reach out to us at junklabtech@gmail.com
