Piece of Sheet ~ Recycled Plastic Art
Born from plastic waste that once lived as pipette tip boxes in UVA research labs, each Piece of Sheet begins its life in the world of science before being, collected, shredded, pressed, and reborn as art. We collect #5 plastic pipette boxes, shred them down, and heat-press the fragments into sturdy, plywood-like slabs of color-melted plastic. These 3’ x 3’, 1/2” thick sheets are then hand-cut into individual art pieces. Each piece is totally unique in pattern, color swirl, and personality.

Sheet - It’s a Big Deal!
Each piece of sheet ranges in size from 8.5” x 11” (like a classic sheet of paper) to 8” x 8” square formats, plus a few delightfully weird experimental cuts along the way. No two pieces are the same as every one holds its own marbling, color story, and flow created by the randomness of heat and pressure.

Certified One-of-a-Kind Sheet
Every art piece is given a unique ID number and logged on our site as proof of authenticity. You’ll receive a printed display card with the name and number of your sheet piece, your very own entry in our growing archive of rescued plastic art.

Show Your Sheet Off!
To make wall-hanging easy and beautiful, each Piece of Sheet comes with a custom 3D-printed display shelf. These shelves are printed in PLA plastic, a compostable corn-based plastic that biodegrades only under industrial composting conditions (145°F + active churning). So don’t worry, it’s staying put on your wall.
